Overview

Disco brings your content, community, and operations into one place. Whether you’re running a cohort-based course, a professional membership, or a self-paced bootcamp, your Academy is the home for all of it. Members join your Academy, register in Programs, attend Events, and engage with each other, all without leaving your branded space. This documentation covers every part of the platform. Use the navigation on the left under the Docs tab to explore by topic, or start with the sections below to get oriented quickly.

How Your Academy Is Organized

Understanding Disco’s core structure helps you move faster and make better decisions as you build.
Academy is the top-level container for your brand, your members, your content, and your community. Think of it as your platform. Members join your Academy before they access anything inside it.
Programs are the individual learning experiences you offer inside your Academy. A Program can be a cohort course, a self-paced curriculum, a certification track, or any structured sequence of content. Each Program has its own modules, lessons, and member roster.
Chat is discussions that are happening throughout your Academy. Within community spaces, programs, lessons or elsewhere.
Events are live sessions, workshops, or office hours that you schedule within your Academy or inside a specific Program. Events keep members engaged and give your community a regular rhythm.
Members are the people who join your Academy. A Member can be enrolled in one or multiple Programs, and they participate in community spaces, events, and discussions tied to your Academy.
Admin Area is your control centre for the Academy experience. Within this area (which only Admins have access to) you can manage members, programs, events, customize your academy, build automations and more.

What You Can Do in Disco

Disco supports the full lifecycle of running an online learning academy, from setup to scale.
  • Deliver Learning Programs. Create structured learning experiences with modules and lessons. Set pacing, control visibility, and publish when you’re ready.
  • Run Events. Schedule live sessions and sync them with your community calendar. Members can RSVP, get reminders, and join directly from Disco.
  • Spark Discussions. Use Channels and Feeds to host discussions, share announcements, and build a culture of participation between live sessions.
  • Manage Members. Invite members, assign roles, track enrollment, and manage access across your Academy and its Programs.
  • AI-Native Learning. Disco’s AI features help you generate content, surface insights, and reduce manual work so you spend more time on the parts that require a human touch.
The most successful Academies on Disco treat community as a core part of the learning experience, not an add-on. Programs that include active spaces for discussion and regular events consistently see higher member engagement and completion rates. We recommend setting up at least one community space before you launch your first Program.
